About this series of articles
Each year as November and December roll around, I want to help us slow down and remember that Christmas begins not with lights or lists but with the living Christ. This Christmas series is written for believers who love Scripture and want to see again, with clear eyes, what God has said about the coming of His Son. Instead of leaning on nostalgia or vague sentiment, we will walk through specific passages of the Bible and consider what the birth of Jesus means for our salvation and for a life of worshipful obedience.
Some of these articles will explore why Advent matters for every follower of Christ and how the promises of the Old Testament flow into the Gospels. Others will look carefully at the birth accounts themselves, the surprises in the Christmas story, and the way people like Simeon and Anna responded when they met the newborn Messiah. In the years ahead, I plan to trace themes such as the prophecies that pointed to Christ’s coming, the role of the temple and the priesthood, the often overlooked details of the nativity narratives, and the connection between Christ’s first coming and His promised return.
I plan to return to this series every year during the Christmas season, adding new articles as the Lord allows. My hope is that it will become a yearly companion for you, your family, or your small group as you open your Bible in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Above all, may these studies lead you to trust Christ more deeply and to share the good news of His coming with those who still do not know Him.
